Strategies for promotion

What a minefield, so many social net works, where do you begin. Well why not just blitz them all and see what happens, that was my initial thoughts, but it is becoming time consuming but also a little addictive. But how to get real fans, that seems to be the Holy Grail of promo, not just getting other bands who want likes off you for their Facebook page, if anyone has the answer to this, please let me know, it may save me a lot of time. However I have discovered some real good bands out there, which I would have probably never listened too.  As I am probably one of the rare few that actually listen to a band before I decide whether to Fan them back or Like them or what ever. Anyway progress on the promo is slow but exciting and here's our next stage.
